CITY OF SHEFFIELD (OUTER RING ROAD—STAGE 4) COMPULSORY PURCHASE ORDER 1999
THE HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 AND THE ACQUISITION OF LAND ACT 1981

Notice is hereby given that the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions in exercise of his powers under the above Acts on 20th January 2000, confirmed with modifications the City of Sheffield (Outer Ring Road—Stage 4) Compulsory Purchase Order 1999 submitted by the Sheffield City Council. The Order as confirmed provides for the purchase, for the purposes of: (a) the improvement of Greenland Road (A6102) and Prince of Wales Road (A6102), which are highways maintainable at public expense between Main Road and a point 0.08 kilometres south of Halsall Avenue, which are to be known as Stage 4 of, and which will form part of, the (A6102) Outer Ring Road in the district of Sheffield; and (b) use by the acquiring authority in connection with the improvement of highways as aforesaid; of the land described in the Schedule hereto. A copy of the Order as confirmed by the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions and of the map referred to therein have been deposited at the First Stop Reception, Legal and Administrative Services, Town Hall, Sheffield S1 2HH, and at the Enquiry Office, Sheffield Design and Property, 2-10 Carbrook Hall Road, Sheffield S9 2DB, and may be seen there at all reasonable hours. The Order as confirmed becomes operative on the date on which this notice is first published; but a person aggrieved by the Order may, by application to the High Court within 6 weeks from the date, question its validity on the grounds that the authorisation granted by the Order is not empowered to be granted or that there has been a failure to comply with any relevant statutory requirement relating to the Order.
