ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE A595 TRUNK ROAD (CEMETERY LAY-BY, EGREMONT) (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING) ORDER 1999
The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that he intends to make an Order under sections 1(1) and 2(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984. The effect of the Order will be to restrict waiting for more than 2 hours, with no return within 2 hours between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. on any day, Monday to Sunday, in the Cemetery lay-by situated adjacent to the A595 trunk road, at Egremont, in the county of Cumbria, from a point 250 metres north of the Jubilee Road Garage junction to a point 60 metres north of the Jubilee Road Garage junction. Exceptions have been provided in the Order to enable a vehicle to be used in connection with any building operation or demolition; for the removal of any obstruction to traffic; for the maintenance of the road or services therein; for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes; and by a local authority or water company in pursuance of their respective statutory powers or duties. A copy of the draft Order, together with a plan, and a copy of the Secretary of State’s statement of reasons for proposing to make this Order have been deposited at The Charles Edmonds Library, Wyndham School, Egremont, Cumbria CA22 2DH, where they may be inspected during normal opening hours; or may be seen at or obtained by application to the Director, Project Services Operations Division, Room 705, Sunley Tower, Piccadilly Plaza, Manchester M1 4BE. Any person wishing to object to the Secretary of State’s proposals to make the Order should send a written statement of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Director’s address given above quoting HA 41/5/12 and must be received no later than Monday, 13th December 1999.
