NOTICE OF APPLICATION TO STOP UP A HIGHWAY

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the Borough of Stockton-on-Tees as Highway Authority intends to apply for an Order, under the provisions of section 116 of the Highways Act 1980, that the highway referred to in the Schedule be authorised to be stopped up on the ground that it is unnecessary. The application is to be made for the Order at Teesside Magistrates Court, Victoria Square, Middlesbrough, on Monday, 20th December 1999, sitting at 10 a.m. A plan showing the highway proposed to be stopped up has been deposited at the Department of Legal and Administration Services, Municipal Buildings, Church Road, Stockton-on-Tees, and may be inspected there, free of charge, during normal office hours. Schedule Handley Close, Stockton-on-Tees,the carriageway and accompanying footpath to the southern end of the existing cul-de-sac known as Handley Close on Preston Farm Industrial Estate, for a linear distance of some 110 metres.
