NOTICE UNDER PARAGRAPH 8 OF SCHEDULE 16 TO THE SAID ACT

Notice is hereby given that NOTTINGHAM IMPERIAL BUILDING SOCIETY (Register No. 412B), whose principal office is at Imperial House, 72 Bridgford Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham NG2 6AP desires to transfer its engagements to Newcastle Building Society (Register No. 233B), and that each society has applied to the Building Societies Commission to confirm the transfer. Any interested party may make written representations to the Commission and/or give notice of intention to make oral representations to the Commission with respect to the application. Written representations and notices of intention to make oral representations should be received by the Commission at c/o Financial Services Authority, 14th Floor (Team 6), 25 The North Colonnade, Canary Wharf, London E14 5HS, by 15th November 1999. If notice is given of oral representations, these will be heard by the Commission on 6th December 1999, at a time and place to be determined by the Commission.
