PICCADILLY—BUS PRIORITY NETWORK

Notice is hereby given that the Westminster City Council propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985. The general effect of the Waiting and Loading Restriction Order would be further to amend the City of Westminster (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 1976, so that: (a) the hours during which the existing waiting by vehicles (otherwise than for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle) would be changed so that they would apply: (i) at any time in parts of Air Street, Berkeley Street, Brick Street, Half Moon Street, Old Bond Street, Old Park Lane, Piccadilly and Swallow Street; (ii) between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Mondays to Saturdays in parts of Air Street, Albemarle Street, Arlington Street, Berkeley Street, Bolton Street, Brick Street, Clarges Street, Dover Street, Half Moon Street, Old Bond Street, Old Park Lane, Piccadilly, Sackville Street, St. James’s Street, Swallow Street and Whitehorse Street; (b) the hours during which the existing waiting by vehicles for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle would be changed so that they would apply: (i) at any time in parts of Air Street, Brick Street, Old Bond Street, Old Park Lane and Piccadilly; (ii) between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Mondays to Saturdays in parts of Bolton Street, Stratton Street and Piccadilly; (iii) between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Mondays to Saturdays in a part of Piccadilly. The general effect of the Bus Lanes Order would be to introduce two northbound bus lanes in Piccadilly which would operate between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive and a southbound bus lane in Piccadilly which would operate between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive. The general effect of the Restriction of Waiting on Bus Stops Order would be to introduce restrictions applicable at all times at certain bus stops in Piccadilly so that only buses can wait whilst picking up or setting down passengers. The proposed Orders and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders are available for inspection on Mondays to Fridays inclusive at One Stop Services, City Hall, 64 Victoria Street, London SW1E 6QP, until 6 weeks have elapsed from the date on which either the Orders are made or the Council decide not to make the Orders.
