ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE BOROUGH OF TAMWORTH (TOWN CENTRE) (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, WAITING AND ONE WAY) ORDER
Notice is hereby given that the Borough of Tamworth propose to make an Order under the provisions of sections 1(1) and (2), 2(1) to (3), 3(2) and 4(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to preclude vehicular traffic from driving and waiting on those lengths of roads detailed in Schedule 1 to this notice. Exemptions to this part of the Order will include waiting on those lengths of road specified in Schedule 1 at all times for vehicles used in connection with building operations, the maintenance of roads, the supply of gas, water, electricity and telecommunication apparatus, for the delivery and collection of postal packets vehicles used in pursuance of statutory duties e.g. ambulance, fire and police and specifically adapted security vehicles for the conveyance of cash, securities or other valuables. Exemptions will also allow the following vehicles to proceed and to wait on those lengths of roads specified in Schedule 1, or those lengths of roads specifically referred to below as the case may be: (a) Buses and taxis (Hackney Carriages)—Bolebridge Street and Victoria Road only; (b) Delivery vehicles for the purpose of loading and unloading before 11 a.m. and after 3 p.m. on all days; (c) (1) Vehicles used in connection with the erection and removal of market stalls on Tuesdays and Saturdays between 4 a.m. and 7 p.m. only; (2) Market Traders vehicles and their deliveries on Tuesdays and Saturdays at the commencement and cessation of trading between 4 a.m. and 7 p.m. only; (d) Vehicles requiring access to private car parks before 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on all days, such vehicles will require a permit to be issued by the Council. The Order will also only allow vehicles to proceed in those streets shown in Schedule 2 to this notice in the directions specified. A copy of the draft, together with a map showing the lengths of roads concerned and a statement of the Councils reasons for proposing to make the Order may be examined at Marmion House, Lichfield Street, Tamworth, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday to Friday. If you wish to object to the proposed Order you should send the grounds for your objection to the undersigned by no later than Monday, 23rd August 1999. C. Bolebridge Street, between the access road into Ankerside Car Park and Victoria Road/Colehill/George Street. Victoria Road, between George Street/Colehill/Bolebridge Street and Marmion Street/Mill Lane. Schedule 2 One Way George Street, from its junction with Colehill/Victoria Road/Bolebridge Street in an westerly direction to its junction with Market Street. Market Street, from its junction with George Street in a westerly direction to its junction with Silver Street/Holloway. Lower Gungate, from its junction with Colehill/Church Street in a northerly direction to its junction with Spinning School Lane. Bolebridge Street, from its junction with Anker Drive in a north-westerly direction to its junction with Colehill/Victoria Road/George Street. Victoria Road, from its junction with Colehill/George Street/Bolebridge Street in a easterly direction to its junction with Marmion Street/Mill Lane. 29th July 1999.
