NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that North West Water Ltd., of Lingley Mere, Lingley Green Avenue, Great Sankey, Warrington, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from raised beach/glacial sands and gravels deposit at National Grid Reference NX 9965 2950 at The John Pier Pumping Station Site, Dock Road, Workington, Cumbria. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 104 cubic metres per hour, 830 cubic metres per day, 5,500 cubic metres per year, between 1st September 1999 and 12th December 1999. The water will be used for testing of pumps in new wastewater pumping station. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Bechtel Site Office, Dock Road, Workington, Cumbria, between 5th July 1999 and 2nd August 1999. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Ghyll Mount, Gillan Way, Penrith 40 Business Park, Penrith, Cumbria CA11 9BP, before the end of the said period.
