THE CROYDON (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (AMENDMENT NO. 10) ORDER 1999

Notice is hereby given that the London Borough of Croydon, on 24th May 1999, made the above-mentioned Order under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act, 1985. 2. The general effect of the Order would be to further amend the Croydon (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 1991, so that waiting by vehicles would be prohibited: (a) at any time throughout the week in those lengths of Lansdowne Road and Sydney Avenue as specified in Schedule 1 to this notice; (b) between the hours of 8 a.m. and 9.30 a.m., and 2.30 p.m. and 4 p.m., Monday to Friday inclusive, in that length of Attlee Close as specified in Schedule 2 to this notice. 3. The prohibition referred to in paragraphs 2(a) and (b) above will not apply in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or in certain circumstances, e.g. the picking up or setting down of passengers; the carrying out of statutory powers or duties; the taking in of petrol, etc., from roadside petrol stations; to licensed street traders etc. The usual exemption relating to vehicles displaying a disabled person’s ‘Orange Badge’ will apply. 4. A copy of the Order, which will come into operation on 1st June 1999 of the Croydon (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order, 1991 (and of any Order which has previously amended that Order) can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, until the end of 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made at the Enquiry Counter, “One Stop” Facility, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon, Surrey. 5. Copies of the Order may be obtained from the Traffic and Parking Section of the Public Services and Works Department, Room 4.06, Municipal Offices, Fell Road, Croydon. 6. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevent powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court. Ollier, Director of Public Services and Works Schedule 1 Lansdowne Road: (a) the north-west and south-west sides, (i) from its junction with Sydney Avenue, north-eastward for a distance of 9 metres; (ii) from the party wall of Nos. 4 and 6 Lansdowne Road, to a point 9 metres north-west of the north-western kerb-line of Lansdowne Road; (b) the south-east side, between its junction with Sydney Avenue, north-eastwards for a distance of 12 metres. Sydney Avenue, from its junction with Lansdowne Road to the party wall of Nos. 1 and 2 Sydney Avenue. Schedule 2 Attlee Close, the west side, from a point 30 metres south-east of the south-eastern kerb-line of Kynaston Avenue, southward for a distance of 37 metres. 26th May 1999.
