In the High Court of Justice (Chancery Division) Companies Court.  No. 002198 of 1999 In the Matter of NATIONAL PROVIDENT INSTITUTION and In the Matter of NATIONAL PROVIDENT LIFE LIMITED and In the Matter of the Insurance Companies Act 1982 Notice is hereby given that a Petition (“the Petition”) was on 26th March 1999 presented to Her Majesty’s High Court of Justice by the above-named National Provident Institution (“NPI”) for: (1) the sanction of the Court under Part I of Schedule 2C to the Insurance Companies Act 1982 (the “Act”) to a Scheme (the “Scheme”) providing for the transfer to the above-named National Provident Life Limited (“National Provident Life”) of the whole of the long term business (as defined by Section 1(1) of the Act) of NPI; and (2) orders making ancillary provision in connection with the said transfer under paragraph 5 of Schedule 2C to the Act. Copies of the Petition, including a print of the Scheme, and a Report by an Independent Actuary pursuant to paragraph 2(1) of Schedule 2C to the Act may be inspected at each of the addresses specified in the schedule hereto during normal business hours for a period of at least 21 days from the publication of this notice. The Petition is directed to be heard before the Companies Court Judge at the Royal Courts of Justice, Strand, London WC2A 2LL, on 5th October 1999. Any person (including any employee of NPI) who claims that he or she would be adversely affected by the Scheme may appear at the time of the said hearing in person or by Counsel. Any person who intends so to appear, and any member or policy holder of NPI who dissents from the Scheme but does not intend so to appear, should give not less than two clear days’ prior notice in writing of such intention or dissent and of the reasons thereof to the Solicitors named below. Copies of the documents referred to above will be furnished by such solicitors to any person requiring them prior to the making of an order sanctioning the Scheme on payment of the prescribed charge for the same.
