Stafford Borough Council
THE BOROUGH OF STAFFORD (FARMDOWN ROAD (PART), STAFFORD) (EXPERIMENTAL RESTRICTION OF WAITING) ORDER 1999
Notice is hereby given that on 5th May 1999, the council made the above Order under section 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order, which will come into operation on 21st May 1999, will be to prohibit waiting between 11 p.m. on any day and 6 a.m. on the following day in the pull-in area on the northern side of Farmdown Road, Stafford, which extends from a point 24 metres west of the junction with Baswich Lane to a point 49 metres west of the same junction. An experimental Order may remain in force for up to 18 months. The Borough Council will be considering in due course whether the provisions of the experimental Order should be continued in force indefinitely. Within a period of six months from the day on which the experimental Order came into force, any person may object to the making of a subsequent Order the effect of which would be to make the provisions of the experimental Order permanent. Any such objection must be in writing, must state the grounds for objection and must be submitted to the Central Services Department at the address shown below. A copy of the experimental Order and map relating thereto, together with a copy of the Council’s statement of reasons for having made the Order, are available for inspection at the Central Services Department, Civic Centre, Riverside, Stafford, where they may be examined during normal office hours. If you wish to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within 6 weeks from 5th May 1999, apply to the High Court for this purpose. A. R. Welch, Solicitor, Head of Law and Administration, Civic Centre, Riverside, Stafford. 14th May 1999.
