ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTIONS 1 AND 2
THE A6 TRUNK ROAD (CHURCH ROAD C198, STREATLEY CROSSROADS) (CLOSURE OF GAPS IN THE CENTRAL RESERVATION, ORDER 1999
The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives
notice that he has made an Order under section 1(1) and 2(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of the Order is to close the gaps in the central reservation located at
Streatley Crossroads, near Barton, opposite the C198 Church Road, and the UC202. The
need for these gaps has been superseded by the newly opened roundabout.
A copy of the Order and a location plan may be inspected during normal office hours
until 1st June 1999, at the offices of Bedfordshire County Council, County Hall, Cauldwell
Street, Bedford MK42 9AP and South Bedfordshire District Council, The District Offices,
High Street North, Dunstable LU6 1LF, or obtained by application to the Highways Agency,
Heron House, 49-53 Goldington Road, Bedford MK40 3LL.
Any person who wishes to question the validity of, or of any provision contained
in, the Order, on the ground that it is not within the powers with respect to the
Order conferred by the above Act, or on the ground that any requirement of, or of
any Instrument made under, any provision of that Act has not been complied with in
relation to the Order may, before 1st June 1999, apply to the High Court for the suspension
or quashing of the Order or of any provision contained in it.
