THE SUTTON (DISABLED PERSONS PARKING PLACES)
(NO. 2) (AMENDMENT NO. 20) ORDER 1999
Notice is hereby given, that the Council of the London Borough of Sutton, made the
above mentioned Order on Monday, 19th April 1999, under sections 6 and 124 of and
Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local
Government Act 1985, and the Road Traffic Act 1991.
2. The principle objectives are that the proposed bays shall provide for disabled
persons;
(a) a parking facility where a high level of parking makes reasonable means of access
difficult;
(b) a parking facility in a local shopping area where parking regularly occurs making
reasonable means of access difficult.
3. The general effect of this Order will be;
(i) to provide a parking place in which only vehicles displaying a disabled person’s
badge may park in the following locations:
(a) outside No. 53 Danescourt Crescent, Sutton, to operate at all times (partly on
footway);
(b) outside No. 56 Church Hill Road, Cheam, to operate at all times;
(c) outside No. 14 Clarendon Road, Wallington, to operate at all times;
(d) outside No. 4 Park Terrace, St. John’s Road, Carshalton, to operate at all times;
(e) outside No. 53 Bute Road, Wallington, to operate at all times;
(f) outside No. 5 Derry Road, Beddington, to operate at all times;
(g) outside 2 Derry Road, Beddington, to operate at all times;
(h) outside No. 181 Bishopsford Road, Morden, to operate at all times (fully on footway);
(ii) to revoke the disabled persons parking bays in the following locations:
(a) outside No. 60 Beddington Grove, Wallington;
(b) outside No. 29 Shepley Close, Carshalton;
(c) outside No. 12 Vernon Road, Sutton;
(d) outside No. 54 Paget Avenue, Sutton;
(e) outside No. 21-23 Rutherford Close, Sutton;
(f) outside No. 4 Grassway, Wallington;
(g) outside No. 61 Thornton Road, Carshalton;
(h) outside No. 137 Longfellow Road, Worcester Park;
(i) outside No. 49 Dibdin Road, Sutton.
4. A copy of of the Order which will come into effect on Monday, 26th April 1999,
the Council’s statement of reasons for making the Order and plans showing the locations
and effect of the restrictions, can be examined at Civic Offices St. Nicholas Way,
Sutton, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Environment Services, 24 Denmark Road,
Carshalton, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
5. If any person wishes to question the validity of this Order, or of any of its
provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of this Act, or of any Instruments
made under this Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from
the date on which the Order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
