DECLARATION OF NATIONAL NATURE RESERVE, PARISH OF ASKAM AND IRELETH, COUNTY OF CUMBRIA

Notice is hereby given in pursuance of section 19 of the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949 and section 35 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, that by the Sandscale Haws National Nature Reserve No. 1 Declaration 1999, the Nature Conservancy Council for England (hereinafter called English Nature), declared that the land containing 263.80 hectares or thereabouts situated in the Parish of Askam and Ireleth in the county of Cumbria and shown bounded red on the plan attached to the said Declaration, is held by the National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty and that the said land is being managed as a nature reserve. Certified copies of the Sandscale Haws National Nature Reserve No. 1 Declaration 1999, have been deposited for public inspection, free of charge, during normal opening hours at the head office of English Nature, at Northminster House, Peterborough PE1 1UA, and at the Cumbria office of English Nature, at Juniper House, Murley Moss, Oxenholme Road, Kendal, Cumbria LA9 7RL.
