PARKING PENALTY CHARGES

The Council of the Royal Borough of Kingston-upon-Thames hereby gives notice, as required by section 74 of the Road Traffic Act 1991, of the amount of the parking penalty charges payable with effect from 1st April 1999. 2. The Secretary of State for Transport, Environment and the Regions has approved the following penalty charges which will apply within the Borough: (a)  All Routes subject to Red Route Control (A3 including its slip roads and interchanges): Penalty band A—penalty charge of £80 payable within 28 days of issue of a Penalty Charge Notice which may be reduced to £40 if payment is made within 14 days of the issue of that notice; (b)  All Other Roads: Penalty band B—penalty charge of £60 payable within 28 days of issue of a Penalty Charge Notice which may be reduced to £30 if payment is made within 14 days of the issue of that notice; (c)  All Contraventions of Off-Street Parking Places Orders (made under section 35 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984): Penalty band C—penalty charge of £40 payable within 28 days of issue of a Penalty Charge Notice which may be reduced to £20 if payment is made within 14 days of the issue of that notice; (d)  Bus Lane Enforcement (carried out under the London Local Authorities Act 1996): Penalty band A—penalty charge of £80 payable within 28 days of issue of a Penalty Charge Notice which may be reduced to £40 if payment is made within 14 days of the issue of that notice. 3. The Penalty Charge Notices referred to in paragraph 2 will be issued by Parking Attendants and the Council as provided in the Road Traffic Act 1991 and the London Local Authorities Act 1996. 4. This notice does not apply to any Fixed Penalty Notices which may be issued by the Metropolitan Police of Traffic Wardens. 5. This notice replaces the notice which appeared in The Surrey and The London Gazette on Friday, 12th March 1999.
