THE ISLINGTON (PRESCRIBED ROUTES) (AMENDMENT NO. 133) TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDER 1999
RELATING TO CAMDEN PASSAGE, DUNCAN STREET, ISLINGTON HIGH STREET AND UPPER STREET, LONDON N.1

Notice is hereby given that the Islington Borough Council proposes to make the above-mentioned Order under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 in accordance with the construction of a signalised pedestrian crossing in Upper Street near the junction with Islington High Street and the closure of the gap in the central reserve in Upper Street at its junction with Duncan Street. 2. The effect of the Order would be to: (a) Prohibit entry into the western arm of Islington High Street from Upper Street. (b) Prohibit entry into Duncan Street from Upper Street. (c) Introduce one-way working in Camden Passage and Islington High Street to a point opposite the party wall of Nos. 102-104 Islington High Street. (d) Revoke the one-way working of Islington High Street from a point opposite the party wall of Nos. 100-102 Islington High Street to its junction with Duncan Street. (e) Compel vehicles to turn right from the western arm of Islington High Street into the northbound carriageway of Upper Street. 3. The prohibitions referred to in paragraph 2(a), (b), (e) and (f) above would not apply to anything done at the direction or with the permission of a police constable in uniform. 4. A copy of the proposed Order, of the plan indicating the details of the measures referred to above, and of the Council’s statement of reasons for seeking to make the Order, can be inspected during normal office hours until the end of a period of 6 weeks from the date on which the Order is made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Order, at the following locations: (a) The Legal Department, Islington Town Hall, Upper Street, London N.1. (Please ask for Ref. LE/C/HGF). (b) The offices of The Highways Agency, Room 5/69, St. Christopher House, Southwark Street, London SE1 0TE. (c) The offices of Mouchel Consulting Limited, Albany Place Depot, Benwell Road, London N.7. (d) Finsbury Library, 245 St. John’s Street, London EC1V 4NB. 5. Further information on these proposals may be obtained by telephoning the Highways Agency, North London Team, on 0171-921 4311. 6. Any person who wishes to object to or make representations about the making of this Order should do so in writing to The Head of Law and Public Services, Legal Department, Town Hall, Upper Street, London N.1, quoting the Ref.
