STOPPING-UP OF HIGHWAY IN BURNLEY
The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives
notice that he has made an Order under section 247 of the above Act entitled “The
Stopping-up of Highways (County of Lancashire) (No. 2) Order 1999”, authorising the
stopping-up of Stanley Place, Burnley.
Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, on application to the Government
Office for the North West (Transport), Sunley Tower, Piccadilly Plaza, Manchester
M1 4BE (quoting Ref. GO/TNW 5063/35/1/59). It may also be inspected at all reasonable
hours at the offices of Burnley Council, Town Hall, Burnley.
Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof,
or of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within the powers
of the above Act or that any requirement of the Act or of any regulation made thereunder
has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of 18th February
1999, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or any provision
contained therein.
