NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR AN ORDER STOPPING-UP HIGHWAY ON DORCAS AVENUE, BENWELL
Notice is hereby given that the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne intends to apply to the Magistrates Court under section 116 of the Highways Act 1980 for an Order stopping-up a length of Dorcas Avenue, Benwell, extending to a distance of 187 metres in a westerly direction from its junction with Sunnybank Avenue, to a point 40 metres east of its junction with Pendower Way, marked as points A-B and hatched on the Order plan, on the grounds that it is unnecessary. The application is to be heard on Tuesday, 23rd March 1999, at 10 a.m., in the Magistrates Court, Market Street, Newcastle upon Tyne. The effect of the Order sought will be to prevent all traffic over the land which for the purposes of identification only, is shown as a hatched area on a plan which may be inspected, free of charge, at the offices of the Planning and Transportation Division, Civic Centre, Newcastle upon Tyne, between 8.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m., Mondays to Fridays.
