THE HOUNSLOW (PRESCRIBED ROUTE) (NO. 1) TRAFFIC ORDER 1999
LIONEL ROAD, BRENTFORD—PROPOSED CONTRA-FLOW CYCLE LANE
Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Hounslow, on 11th January 1999, made the above-mentioned Order under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985. The general effect of the Order will be to revoke and re-enact in a modified form the Hounslow (Prescribed Routes) (No. 1) Traffic Order 1977, which imposes one-way working in a south-easterly direction in the north-eastern arm of Lionel Road, Brentford. The Order will impose a contra-flow cycle lane on the south-west side of the north-eastern arm of Lionel Road in which only pedal cycles may be allowed to enter and proceed in a north-westerly direction and which area will be bounded by a solid white line and marked by traffic signs as prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 1994. Exemption will be provided in the Order in respect of anything done: (i) with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; (ii) in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the highway by the Metropolitan Police. A copy of the Order, which will come into operation on 18th January 1999, together with a copy of the Order of 1977 and of a plan depicting the length of road to which the Order relates can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the expiration of a period of 6 weeks from the date on which this notice is published in the Environmental Services Reception Area at the Civic Centre, Lampton Road, Hounslow TW3 4DN. Copies of the Order may be purchased from the Environmental Services Department of the London Borough of Hounslow, Civic Centre, Lampton Road, Hounslow TW3 4DN. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order, or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
