NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO OBSTRUCT OR IMPEDE THE FLOW OF AN INLAND WATER BY MEANS OF IMPOUNDING WORKS

Take notice that the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds of the Lodge, Sandy, Bedfordshire SG19 2DL, is applying to the Environment Agency Wales, for a licence to obstruct or impede the flow of drainage ditches on land at Malltraeth Marsh between National Grid References SH 457 723 and SH 463 719, and SH 455 718 and SH 459 715 at Malltreath Marsh RSPB reserve, Llanfihangel Esceifiog, Anglesey. Water will be impounded by clay dams with flexi-pipe sluices and the object of the impounding works is to create surface water for wetland creation. This is a continuation of work on the existing RSPB reserve. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Gaerwen Post Office, between 16th December 1998 and 16th January 1999. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency Wales, Llwyn Brian, Parc Menai, Bangor, Gwynedd LL57 4DE, before the end of the said period.
