NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that Yuasa Battery UK Ltd of Unit 22, Rassau Industrial Estate, Ebbw Vale NP3 5SD is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from two boreholes at National Grid Reference SO 1475 1210 and 1476 1215 at Yuasa Battery, Ebbw Vale Site. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 30 cubic metres per hour, 720 cubic metres per day, and 252,000 cubic metres per year. The water will be used for a combination of processes, washdown and drinkwater. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Yuasa Battery Security Lodge, between 14th December 1998 and 8th January 1999. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Rivers House, St. Mellons Business Park, St. Mellons, Cardiff CF3 0LT, before the end of the said period quoting the name of the applicant.
