TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that he proposes to make an Order under section 247 of the above Act to authorise the stopping-up of the whole of Nelson Place and lengths of Grassington Road and Nelson Road, Sidcup. If the Order is made, the stopping-up will be authorised only in Order to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted to Centros Properties Ltd and Safeway Stores Plc by the Council of the London Borough of Bexley on 3rd December 1997, under Ref. 97/1317F. The proposed Order will require a provision of a new highway maintainable at the public expense for which the London Borough of Bexley will be the local highway authority. Copies of the draft Order and relevant plan may be inspected at all reasonable hours during 28 days commencing on 4th December 1998, at the offices of the London Borough of Bexley, Civic Offices, Broadway, Bexleyheath, Kent, or the Council Offices, Wyncham House, 207 Longlands Road, Sidcup, Kent, and may be obtained, free of charge, from the Government Office for London (quoting Ref. LTM 5/4/2) at the address below. Any person may object to the making of the proposed Order within the period of 28 days commending on 4th December 1998, by notice to the Secretary of State, quoting the above reference, at the Government Office for London, Transport Division, 8/W19, Riverwalk House, 157-161 Millbank, London SW1P 4RR. Schedule Comprehensive Town Centre development including demolition to allow the provision of new pedestrian and vehicular links with Mall shop units, service areas, garages and retail store within Class A1 of the Town and Country Planning (Use Classes) Order 1987, together with in-store bakery, coffee shop, creche, ancillary offices and storage, car park, servicing and access including associated highway work.
