LONDON BOROUGH OF LEWISHAM
The A205 Trunk Road (Lewisham) Red Route (Side Roads) Traffic Order 1998
Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Lewisham made the above-named Order in accordance with the provisions of section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), on 16th November 1998. The Order will come into force on 30th November 1998. The general nature and effect of the Order is to install as a permanent measure Red Route controls on side roads of the A205 London South Circular Trunk Road in the London Borough of Lewisham which include: (a) Single red lines prohibiting stopping by any vehicle between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive; (b) Double red lines prohibiting stopping at any time by any vehicle in certain lengths of road; (c) Areas marked on the carriageway in “boxes” where parking and where loading/unloading activities can take place at various times and for various periods. The lengths of road affected by the Order are certain lengths of side roads on the north and south of the A205 London South Circular Trunk Road between Catford and the boundary with the London Borough of Greenwich at Westhorne Avenue. The greater part of the measures have already been in force under the terms of the A205 Trunk Road (Lewisham) Red Route (Side Roads) (No. 1) Experimental Traffic Order 1997. In response to representations received and further to review of Red Route measures in place, this Order varies from the experimental Order in force with the shortening of the restrictions at Birch Grove, Minard Road and Verdant Lane, and minor extension of restriction at Torridon Road, west side. A copy of the Order and of plans giving more detailed particulars of the measures, of the Council’s statement of reasons for making the Order and of any Lewisham Order revoked by the Order can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays at London Borough of Lewisham One Stop Shop, Laurence House, Ground Floor, 1 Catford Road, London SE6 4RU, for a period of 6 weeks from the date the Order was made. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of that Act, or of any Instrument or relevant regulation made under the Act has not been complied with, may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, apply for the purpose to the High Court. K. Nicholson, Head of Law Lewisham Town Hall, Catford Road, London S.E.6. 19th November 1998.
