Proposed Stopping-up of a Highway in Burnley

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that he proposes to make an Order under section 247 of the above Act, which will authorise the stopping-up of Stanley Place, Burnley, Lancashire.   If the Order is made, the stopping-up will be authorised only in order to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted to Burnley, Pendle & Rossendale Sea Cadets, by Burnley Borough Council, on 9th June 1998, under Ref. 12/98/0175.   Copies of the draft Order and relevant plan may be inspected at all reasonable hours during the 28 days commencing on 12th November 1998, at Burnley Borough Council, PO Box 29, Parker Lane, Burnley, and may be obtained, free of charge, from the Government Office for the North West (Transport) (quoting Ref. GO/TNW/5063/35/1/59), at the address stated below.   During the above-mentioned period of 28 days anyone may object to the making of the proposed Order by writing to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, quoting the above reference, at the Government Office for the North West (Transport), Sunley Tower, Piccadilly Plaza, Manchester M1 4BE.   In preparing an objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of it may imparted to other persons who may be affected by it and that those persons may wish to communicate with the objector about it.   General enquiries relating to this notice may be made in writing to Peter Royle, at the Government Office for the North West at the address stated above or by telephoning 0161-952 4262.
