ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATIONS ACT 1984—SECTION 14
Temporary 50 m.p.h. speed limit on the A102 Trunk Road (Tower Hamlets)

The Sectretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that, on safety grounds, he has made an Order, the effect of which will be to impose a speed limit of 50 m.p.h. on parts of the A102 and A102(M) trunk road in Tower Hamlets, covering:   (a) the length of the south-western and western carriageway of the Blackwall Tunnel Northern Approach which lies between a point 50 metres north of the junction of Hamelin Street and Blackwall Tunnel Northern Approach;   (b) the north-eastern carriageway of the Blackwall Tunnel Northern approach;   (c) Abbott Road Underpass;   (d) Twelvetrees Crescent, the underpass which links Devas Street with Twelvetrees Crescent;   (e) the length of the south-eastern slip road from Bow Bridge Flyover to a point 28.96 metres north-west of the junction with the north-eastern carriageway of the Blackwall Tunnel;   (f) the length of the south-western slip road which lies between a point 62.48 metres north-west of the junction with the south-western carriageway of the Blackwall Tunnel Northern Approach;   (g) the length of the north-western slip road from the Bow Bridge Flyover to a point 57.91 metres north-west of its junction with the carriageway;   (h) the slip road from Abbott Road Underpass to the eastern carriageway of Blackwall Tunnel Northern Approach;   (i) the slip road from the Blackwall Tunnel Northern Approach to the north-west of Bow Bridge Flyover;   (j) the slip road from Wick Lane to the north-eastern carriageway of the Blackwall Tunnel;   (k) the slip road from Wick Lane to the south-eastern carriageway of the Blackwall Tunnel.   The Order may be cited as the A102 and A102(M) Trunk Road (Tower Hamlets) (Temporary 50 m.p.h. Speed Limit) Order and will come into force on 8th November 1998. The speed restrictions will apply, where appropriate traffic signs are displayed from 0001 hours on 8th November 1998 until 0001 hours on 30th March 2000. J. D.
