The City of Sunderland (Hendon Maisonettes) 20 m.p.h. Speed Limit Order 1998
Notice is hereby given that on 16th October 1998, the Council of the City of Sunderland made the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and with the consent of the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions which will come into operation on 2nd November 1998. The effect of the Order is as described in the notice of proposal (Ref. 726), on page Nos. 5398 and 5399 in Issue No. 54372 of The London Gazette, dated 16th April 1996. A copy of the sealed Order, a map indicating its location and effect and a statement of the Council’s reasons for making it may be inspected, free of charge, during normal opening hours at Room 3.4, Department of Administration, Civic Centre, Burdon Road, Sunderland SR2 7DN, the Central Library, Fawcett Street, Sunderland, and the Hendon Branch Library, Toward Road, Sunderland, until 27th November 1998. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the ground that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the ground that any requirement of that Act or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of 16th October 1998, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
