LONDON BOROUGH OF NEWHAM
The Newham (Bus Stop Clearways) (No.   ) Traffic Order 199
London Bus Priority Network—proposed Bus Stop Clearways—Romford Road

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Newham propose to make the above-mentioned Order under sections 6 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Road Traffic Act 1991.   The general effect of the Order would be to prohibit all vehicles, except buses and taxis, from stopping on bus stops at any time, along the lengths of Romford Road set out in the Schedule to this Order. Any existing “restriction of waiting on bus stops” Orders would be replaced by this Order. Bus stops would be 19, 25, 33 or 37 metres long, depending on local circumstances.   Copies of the proposed Order, and of documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order, can be inspected until 6 weeks from the date on which the Order is made or until the proposal is withdrawn, whichever is appropriate, during normal office hours, on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, at the offices of the Director of Environment, 25 Nelson Street, East Ham, London E6 6EH.   Further information may be obtained by telephoning the Environment Department, on 0181-472 1430, extension 22369.   All objections and other representations relating to the Order must be made in writing to the Director of Environment, at the address shown above, quoting reference E/ES/NB, by 23rd October 1998. All objections must specify the grounds on which they are made. J. Herman, Head of Environmental Engineering (the Officer appointed for this purpose)
