The proposed scheme will provide treatment for sewage from Dawlish, Dawlish Warren, Cofton, Cockwood, Shutterton and Holcombe. These flows will pass to a new treatment works and treated effluent will be discharged from the existing outfall, 800 metres off Dawlish into Lyme Bay.   Three new pumping stations will be constructed at the Viaduct, Sea Lawns and Sandy Lane to pass forward flows for treatment at the new works. A discharge from these pumping stations may occasionally occur during extreme storm conditions or in the event of an emergency resulting from unavoidable electrical or mechanical breakdown.   The storm overflows are all existing ones, with the exception of three new overflows at the Viaduct, Sea Lawns and Sandy Lane. All existing overflows will be improved to reduce spills and eliminate the discharge of solids. New storm overflows will be contructed to a low spill design and will be provided with screens.   This scheme will replace existing continuous crude sewage discharges to Lyme Bay at Dawlish and also eliminate unsatisfactory intermittent storm discharges.   Details of the proposals are contained in the Register held by the Agency at its office in Exminster House, Miller Way, Exminster, Exeter EX6 8AS and may be inspected, free of charge, from 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m., Monday to Friday inclusive. Enquiries by telephone may be made from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday inclusive.   Any person who wishes to make representations or requires further details about the application should do so in writing to The Regional Water Quality Manager, Environment Agency, South West Region, Manley House, Kestrel Way, Sowton Industrial Estate, Exeter, Devon EX2 7LQ, quoting the above reference number, not later than 5th November 1998.
