Proposed Minor Amendments to the Putney Controlled Parking Zone
Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Wandsworth propose
to make the following Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of
Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government
Act 1985:
The Wandsworth (Putney) (Parking Places) (Amendment No. ) Order 199 ; and
The Wandsworth (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Special Parking Areas) (Amendment
No. ) Order 199
The general effect of the Parking Places Order would be to extend or relocate some
parking places in some roads and also to change the use of some parking places within
the Putney controlled zone, as follows:
New residents’ permit parking places would be introduced in Gwendolen Avenue (A1/A3).
Residents’ permit parking places would be extended in length in Brandlehow Road
(A2), Burstock Road (A1), Deodar Road (A1/A2), Disraeli Road (A1), Glendarvon Road
(A1), Montserrat Road (A1), Putney Bridge Road (A2) and Redgrave Road (A1).
Residents’ permit parking places would be resited in Bemish Road (A1) and Putney
Bridge Road (A2).
Residents’/business permit parking places would be extended in Putney Heath Lane
(A4) and Vandyke Close (A4).
A residents’ permit parking place would be converted to a residents’/business permit
parking place in Winthorpe Road (A1/A2).
Residents’ permit parking places would be converted to shared use parking places
(residents’/business permit/10 hour pay and display) in Carlton Drive (A1/A2.
Residents’ (Saturdays only)/business permit parking places would be converted to
residents’/business permit parking places in Carmalt Gardens (A1/A3), Esmond Street
(A1/A2) and Winthorpe Road (A1/A2).
A shared use parking place (residents’/business permit/10 hour pay and display)
would be converted to a residents’ permit parking place in Chartfield Avenue (A3).
A shared use parking place (residents’ permit/4 hour pay and display) would be
converted to a shared use parking place (residents’/business permit/4 hour pay and
display) in Gwendolen Avenue (A1/A3).
A 2 hour metered/residents’ permit parking place would be converted to a shared
use parking place (residents’/business permit/4 hour pay and display) in St. John’s
Avenue (A1/A2).
The general effect of the Waiting and Loading Restriction Order would be to make
minor amendments to existing waiting restrictions which operate for longer than the
zone hours (mostly “at any time”) to accommodate the extended or resited parking places.
In Charlwood Road (A1), the restrictions operating “at any time” would be extended
to include both sides of the length between Clarendon Drive and Felsham Drive.
Copies of documents giving more detailed particulars of the proposed Orders, including
the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Orders, are available
for inspection during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays in The Concourse,
The Town Hall, Wandsworth High Street, London SW18 2PU. The document will remain available
until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Orders are made.

Any person wishing to object to the proposed Orders should send a statement in
writing of their objection and the grounds on which it is made to the Chief Executive
