The Greenwich (Free Parking Places) (No. 3) (Amendment No. ) Order 199
Notice is hereby given that Greenwich Council, hereinafter called the Council, propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Road Traffic Act 1991. The general effect of the Waiting and Loading Order would be to further amend the Greenwich (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 1994, so that waiting restrictions, operative between 8 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive, would be imposed on the lengths of streets specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice. Details of exemptions from the restrictions for certain vehicles and persons, together with restrictions on selling or advertising in a restricted street are contained in the original Order of 1994. The general effect of the Free Parking Places Order would be to amend the Greenwich (Free Parking Places) (No. 3) Order 1996 by designating additional free parking places operative between 8 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive, where vehicles would be permitted to wait for a period of 30 minutes and where return to the same parking place would be prohibited for a period of one hour on the lengths of streets specified in Schedule 2 to this notice. Persons having a query concerning the proposals should contact Development Services on (0181) 854 8888, Ext. 5679. Copies of the proposed Orders, the Orders being amended and the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Orders, together with plans showing the locations, can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive at Development Services, Greenwich Council, Peggy Middleton House, 50 Woolwich New Road, Woolwich SE18 6HQ. Copies of the proposed Orders can also be inspected at all local libraries. Any person desiring to object to the proposed Orders or make other representation should send a statement in writing of either their objection and the grounds thereof or of their representation to the Councils’ Agents, TMO Services, 9 Osprey Close, Whitstable, Kent CT5 4DT, quoting Ref. LBG/1140, by 3rd September 1998. Persons objecting to the proposed Orders should be aware that in view of the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, this Council would be legally obliged to make any comments received in response to this notice, open to public inspection. Schedule 1
Charlton Road, the south side, between a point 10 metres west of the south-western kerb-line of Hassendean Road and a point 7 metres east of the north-eastern kerb-line of Couthurst Road. Couthurst Road: (a) the south-west side, between the southern kerb-line of Charlton Road and a point 21.5 metres south-east of that kerb-line; (b) the north-east side, between the southern kerb-line of Charlton Road and a point 6 metres south-east of that kerb-line. Hassendean Road, between the southern kerb-line of Charlton Road and a point 10 metres south-east of that kerb-line.
Schedule 2
Couthurst Road, the north-east side, from a point 6 metres south-east of the southern kerb-line of Charlton Road south-eastward for a distance of 15.5 metres. Hassendean Road, the north-east side, from a point 10 metres south-east of the southern kerb-line of Charlton Road south-eastward for a distance of 10 metres. 13th August 1998.
