Notification of application for a licence to abstract water

Take notice that Murphy Pipelines Limited, of Hiview House, Highgate Road, London NW5 1TN, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from the River Trent and Meece Brook at / between National Grid References E398295, N325385, SJ9829 2538 and E387460 N329450, respectively at Ingestre and Shallowford, Staffordshire.   The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates 363 cubic metres per hour, 8,721 cubic metres per day, 58,000 cubic metres between 1st August 1998 and 30th November 1998.   The water will be used for Hydrostatic Testing of a new 1,050 mm diameter gas pipeline.   A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Murphy Pipelines Limited, Hixton Airfield Industrial Estate, Staffordshire, between 1st August 1998 and 31st August 1998.   Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Sentinel House, Wellington Crescent, Fradley Park, Lichfield, Staffordshire WS13 8RR, before the end of the said period.
