Notice of application for a licence to obstruct or impede the flow of an inland water by means of impounding works
Take notice that Thorpe Park (Leeds) Limited, of Park House, Westland Road, Leeds, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to obstruct or impede the flow of “The Beck” at National Grid Reference SE 3792 3331 at Brown Moor, Austhorpe. Water will be impounded by an ‘on-line’ feature surface water balancing pond and the object of the impounding works is to maintain present maximum stream flows. The capacity of the reservoir at overflow level will be 3,624 cubic metres. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at HJT Consulting Engineers, Elton Lodge, Newton Road, Leeds LS7 4HE, between 31st July 1998 and 31st August 1998. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, North East Region, Water Resources, Phoenix House, Global Avenue, Leeds LS11 8PG, before the end of the said period.
