The A64 Trunk Road (Top Lane, Copmanthorpe Junction Improvement Side Roads) Order 19
The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that he proposes to make an Order under sections 12, 14 and 125 of the Highways Act 1980, in relation to the A64 Trunk Road in the Parish of Copmanthorpe, in the City of York, in the county of North Yorkshire, which will: (1) authorise him to: (a) improve highways; (b) stop up highways; (c) construct new highways; (d) stop up private means of access to premises; and (e) provide new means of access to premises; all in the vicinity of the route of the trunk road mentioned above, and (2) provides for the transfer of each new highway to North Yorkshire Councy Council as Highway Authority from the date on which he notifies them that it has been completed and is open for traffic. Copies of the draft Order mentioned above and the plans referred to in it, and of the Environmental Statement which the Secretary of State has published in relation to the scheme may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours from 17th July 1998 to 16th October 1998, or within 13 weeks from the date of first publication of this notice if that period expires later, at the offices of the Highways Agency. Room 12/17, St. Christopher House, Southwark Street, London SE1 0ET and City House, PO Box 206, New Station Street, Leeds LS1 4UR; at North Yorkshire County Council, County Hall, Northallerton, North Yorkshire; at York City Council, St. Leonard’s Place, York; and at Copmanthorpe Library, Main Street, Copmanthorpe. Any person may object to the making of any of these Orders not later than 16th October 1998, or within 13 weeks from the date of first publication of this notice if that period expires later, by notice to the Secretary of State at the office of the Highways Agency, City House, PO Box 206, New Station Street, Leeds LS1 4UR, quoting Ref. NNMD 2700/65/2/9 and stating the grounds of objection. In the preparation of an objection and the statement of grounds of objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of any objection or representation may be communicated to other people who may be affected by it.
