Notice of application for a licence to abstract water

Notice is hereby given that an application is being made to the Environment Agency by North West Water Ltd., Lingley Mere, Lingley Green Avenue, Great Sankey, Warrington WA5 3LP, for a licence to abstract water from a borehole at Bloomfield Road Car Park, Blackpool, National Grid Reference SD 328 459.   The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 100 cubic metres per hour, 2,000 cubic metres per day, 6,000 cubic metres per year. The water is required for a limited period, ending in December 1999, to enable the new stormwater tanks and pumps, within the Blackpool sewer system, to be tested and commissioned.   A copy of the application and any map, plan or other document submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at Blackpool Central Library, Queen Street, Blackpool, during normal opening hours, in the period beginning on 3rd July 1998 and ending on 1st August 1998.   Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Authorisations Officer, Environment Agency, North West Region, Lutra House, Dodd Way, off Seedlee Road, Walton Summit, Bamber Bridge PR5 8BX, before the end of the said period.
