Disabled Persons’ Parking Places

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Brent, on 29th June 1998, made the Brent (Free Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) (No. 3) Order 1998, under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984(a), as amended by section 8 of and Part 1 of Schedule 5 to the Local Government Act 1985.   2. The general effect of the Order will be to:   (a) designate parking places in the lengths of streets specified in the Schedule to this notice in which vehicles authorised by the Order may be left for any period without charge;   (b) provide that the parking places will operate “at any time”;   (c) specify, in respect of the parking places, that disabled persons’ vehicles displaying in the relevant position a disabled person’s badge (commonly referred to as “the Orange Badge”) issued by any local authority under the provisions of the Disabled Persons (Baddges for Motor Vehicles) Regulations 1982 may be left therein; and   (d) provide that certain vehicles may wait in the parking places in certain circumstances, e.g., to allow persons to board or alight (maximum 2 minutes), to load or unload (maximum 20 minutes), etc.   (e) revoke the parking places in Anson Road, Ballogie Avenue, Beresford Avenue, Bolton Road, Brookesville Avenue, Burnley Road, Chapter Road, Coles Green Road, Dartmouth Road, Halstow Road, Heather Park Drive, Inman Road, Liddell Garden, Malvern Road, Mora Road, Neasden Lane, Park Avenue, Princess Road, Sheldon Road, Stanley Gardens and Tanfield Avenue designated by the Brent (Free Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) Order 1977 and by the Brent (Free Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) Order 1994.    3. A copy of the Order, which will come into operation for the purposes of the placing of traffic signs on 10th July 1998, and for all other purposes on 13th July 1998, of the Brent (Free Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) (No. 2) Order 1994, and of maps which indicate each length of road to which the Order relates, can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, until the end of the 6 weeks from the date on which the Order is made at:   (a) The One Stop Shop, Brent Town Hall, Forty Lane, Wembley, Middlesex HA9 9HX; and   (b) The One Stop Shop, Brent House, 349-357 High Road, Wembley, Middlesex HA9 6BZ.   4. Copies of the Order may be purchased from the address mentioned in paragraph 3(b) above.   5. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
