Notice of application to vary a licence to abstract water

Take notice that Sutton and East Surrey Water Plc, of London Road, Redhill, Surrey RH1 1LJ, is applying to the Environment Agency to vary licence serial number 28/39/41/14 which authorises the abstraction of water from Chalk at National Grid References TQ 2787 6634 and TQ 2807 6615, at New Road, Mitcham Common, Hackbridge, Surrey.
  The variaton being applied for is to increase the quantities to be abstracted to 625 cubic metres hourly, 15,000 cubic metres daily, 105,000 cubic metres weekly, 372,000 cubic metres monthly and 1,825,000 cubic metres annually for public water supply purposes in the Sutton and East Surrey Water area.
  A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at the Reception Desk, Copley Clark and Bennett (Solicitors), 36 Grove Road, Sutton, Surrey SM1 1BS, between Tuesday, 7th July and Friday, 7th August 1998.
  Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Groundwater and Licensing Manager, Environment Agency, Kings Meadow House, Kings Meadow Road, Reading RG1 8DQ before the end of the said period, quoting the name of the applicant.
