Notice of applications for licences to abstract water
Take notice that Dales Water Services Ltd., Witherick Lane, Melmerby, Ripon, North Yorkshire HG4 5J, is applying to the Environment Agency for licences to abstract water on behalf of the following clients: J. S. Alton and Son, North Tanfield Farm, Ripon, North Yorkshire HG4 5JT, is applying for a licence to abstract water from a borehole in the Sherwood Sandstone and Magnesium Limestone at National Grid Reference Point SE 324 793, at Mill Farm, Kirklington Grange, Bedale, North Yorkshire, in the parish of Sutton with Howgrave, Hambleton, district of North Yorkshire. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 44 cubic metres per hour, 880 cubic metres per day, 68,620 cubic metres per year. The water will be used for spray irrigation of arable crops between April and September each year. This application is to replace an existing licence which expires on 30th September 1998. J. E. Swiers Ltd., Norton House, Norton-le-Clay, Boroughbridge, York YO6 2RS, is applying for a licence to abstract water from a borehole in the Sherwood Sandstone at National Grid Reference Point SE 3900 7113, at North Hill Farm, Norton-le-Clay, in the parish of Norton-le-Clay, Harrogate, borough of North Yorkshire. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 55 cubic metres per hour, 1,091 cubic metres per day, 30,000 cubic metres per year. The water will be used for spray irrigation of arable crops, between April and September each year. This application is to replace an existing licence which expires on 30th September 1998. David Webster, Mowbray Hill, Well, Bedale, North Yorkshire DL8 2QL, is applying for a licence to abstract water from a borehole in the Magnesium Limestone at National Grid Reference Point SE 2595 8127, at Mowbray Hill, in the parish of Well, Hambleton, district of North Yorkshire. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 50 cubic metres per hour, 1,100 cubic metres per day, 46,200 cubic metres per year. The water will be used for spray irrigation of arable crops between April and September each year. This application is to replace an existing licence which expires on 30th September 1998. A copy of the application and of any map, plans or other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at the respective client addresses between 26th June 1998 and 26th July 1998.
