The London Borough of Hounslow (Free Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) (No.  ) Order 199

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Hounslow propose to make the above-mentioned Order under sections 6 and 124 of Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by section 8 and Schedule 5 of the Local Government Act 1985.   The general effect of the Order would be to:   (a) (i) designate parking places in the streets detailed in the Appendix to this notice; (ii) provide that the parking places would operate between 8.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m., on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive (Christmas Day, Good Friday, and Bank Holiday Mondays excepted); (iii) specify, in respect of the parking places, that a disabled person’s vehicle displaying in the relevant position a disabled person’s badge (commonly referred to as “the Orange Badge”) issued by any local authority under the provisions of the Disabled Persons (Badges for Motor Vehicles) Regulations 1982, may be left therein; (iv) provide that certain vehicles may wait in the parking places in certain circumstances e.g., to allow persons to board or alight (maximum 20 minutes), to load or unload (maximum 20 minutes) etc.;   (b) revoke the designation of the existing disabled persons’ parking bay situated in Layton Road, Hounslow, the north-east side, from a point opposite the party wall of Nos. 4 and 6 Layton Road south-eastwards for a distance of 6 metres.   A copy of the proposed Order, of the Hounslow (Free Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) (No. 1) Order 1980 (and of the Orders which have amended or applied that Order), of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order and of a map which indicates a length of road to which the Order relates can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, until the expiration of a period of 21 days from the date on which this notice is published, in the Environmental Services Reception Area at the Civic Centre, Lampton Road, Hounslow, Middlesex TW3 4DN.   Further information may be obtained by telephoning the Environmental Services Department, telephone 0181-862 5429.   Any person desiring to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Director of Environmental Services, London Borough of Hounslow, Civic Centre, Lampton Road, Hounslow, Middlesex TW3 4DN, quoting Ref.
