City of Salford (Eccles Town Centre Development) (Classified Road) (Side Roads) Order 1998
The Council of the City of Salford hereby gives notice that they have made, and submitted
to the Secretary of State for Transport for confirmation, an Order under section 14
and section 125 of the Highways Act 1980, authorising the Council to:
improve highways (including raising, lowering or otherwise altering);
stop up highways;
construct new highways;
stop up private means of access to premises;
provide new means of access to said premises;
all on, or in the vicinity of, the route of the classified road known as A57 Church
Street, Eccles, which the Council are proposing to improve between Irwell Place and
Regent Street, and construct a new section of highway between Silk Street and Wood
Street. It is also proposed to construct a new road between Lane End and Kerton Drive.
Copies of the Order and of the relevant plan may be inspected, free of charge,
at all reasonable hours from 11th June 1998, at the offices of the Council of the
City of Salford, Law and Administration Division, Corporate Services Directorate,
Salford Civic Centre Chorley Road, Swinton M27 5DA, and at Eccles Library, during
opening hours.
Any person may not, later than 31st July 1998, object to the confirmation of the
Order by notice to the Secretary of State for Transport and the Regions, Government
Office for the North East, Local Authority Orders Section, Wellbar House, Gallowgate,
Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 4TD, stating the grounds of their objection.
