Cranmer Road and Laud Street, Controlled Parking Places

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Croydon propose to make the Croydon (Central) (Parking Places) (No. 1) Order 1993, (Amendment No. X) Traffic Order 1988, under sections 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985, and the Road Traffic Regulation (Parking) Act 1986.   The general effect of the Order would be to amend the Croydon (Central) Controlled Parking Zone to:   (a) introduce a further 5 “2 hour” parking bays in Laud Street, Croydon;   (b) remove 2 “2 hour” parking bays from Cranmer Road, Croydon; and   (c) provide that the regulation of the Croydon (Central) (Parking Places) (No. 1) Order 1993, as amended shall apply to the afore-said new parking bays.   (Charges for parking in the bays will vary from 40p for 30 minutes (minimum) to £1.60 for 2 hours (maximum).   A copy of the proposed Order and of all related Orders, of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order and of a map which indicates the length of road to which the proposed Order relates, can be inspected for a period of 28 days from the date of this notice during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive at the Enquiry Counter, “One Stop” Facility, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon, Surrey.   Further information may be obtained by telephoning the Public Services and Works Department, London Borough of Croydon on 0181-686 4433 extension 2416.   The Councillors for this Ward are Robert Coatman, Patricia Knight and Michael Wunn.   Persons desiring to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Ordermaking Section, Public Services and Works Department, Room 15-07, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon, quoting Ref. TH/JAA/CCPZ within the aforementioned period of 28 days.   The proposed Order is intended to amend the Croydon (Central) Controlled Parking Zone to introduce a further 5 parking bays in Laud Street and remove 2 parking bays from Cranmer Road.
