Notice is hereby given that Gosport Borough Council propose to construct sea defence works along the frontage known as Falkland Gardens and Esplanade, Gosport, between the Camper and Nicholson boatyard to the north and the Dean and Reddyhoff marina to the south, a distance of approximately 320 metres.   The works comprise:   A new steel sheet pile wall along the Falkland Gardens frontage between the existing slipway and the boatyard.   Raising the cope level by approximately 1 metre along the whole frontage by means of precast concrete units bedded into a reinforced concrete capping beam along the sheet pile length and a mass concrete upstand elsewhere.   A rock revetment, using stones of 0.8 tonnes, seaward of the existing and new walls for a total distance offshore of approximately 15 metres.   A copy of all the drawings and relevant correspondence may be viewed during office hours at the Engineering Department, Gosport Borough Council, Town Hall, Gosport, Hampshire PO12 1EB.   Any objection to the Works must be made in writing to Mr. C. Lait, Head of Engineering, at the above address, by Wednesday, 1st July 1998, and must specify the grounds for the objection.
