The Port of Tyne Harbour Revision Order 1998

Notice is hereby given that the Port of Tyne Authority (hereinafter called the Authority”) have applied to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions to make a Harbour Revision Order under section 14 of the Harbours Act 1964.
  The objects of the proposed Order are to authorise the Authority to close, on such day as they may by resolution appoint, Tyne Dock and the facilities therein and in consequence of that closure to repeal the Jarrow Dock and Railway Act 1854.
  A copy of the draft Order and of the plan which accompanied the application may be seen at all reasonable hours at the offices of the Authority at Maritime House, Tyne Dock, South Shields, Tyne and Wear NE34 9PT, and at the offices of the under-mentioned solicitors and parliamentary agents.
  The Secretary of State has determined that he does not require information to be supplied under paragraph A2 of Schedule 3 to the Harbours Act 1964.
  Any person desiring to make an objection to the Secretary of State against the application should write to the Secretary, Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions, Ports Division, Fourth Floor, Zone 13, Great Minster House, 76 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3DR, within 42 days from the date at the foot of this notice quoting Ref. P89/3/375, and stating the grounds of their objection.
