ROYAL BOROUGH OF KINGSTON-UPON-THAMES
The Kingston-upon-Thames, Mount Road, Chessington (Width Restriction) (No.  ) 1998

Notice is hereby given that The Council of the Royal Borough of Kingston-upon-Thames proposes to make the above-mentioned Order under sections 6 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended).   The general effect of the Order would be to prohibit any vehicle, the overall width together with load (if any) carried thereon exceeds 2.13 metres, from entering   (a) that length of Mount Road, Chessington, which lies on the north-west side between a point 3.30 metres north-east of its junction with Moor Lane, and a point 1.50 metres north-east of that point;   (b) that length of Mount Road, Chessington, which lies on the south-east side between a point 13 metres north-east of its junction with Moor Lane, and a point 1.50 metres north-east of that point.   The prohibition referred to in this notice shall not apply to:   (a) any vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes in an emergency;   (b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform;   (c) anything done in accordance with the restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the highway by or on behalf of the Metropolitan police.   A copy of the proposed Order, a plan which indicates the location and effect of the Order, a copy of the press notice, the Kingston-upon-Thames (Width Restriction) (No. 1) Traffic Order 1993 and the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order may, be inspected until the end of 6 weeks from the date on which the Order is made, or as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Order at the 2nd Floor Reception Area, Guildhall 2, Kingston-upon-Thames KT1 1EU (between 9.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m., on Mondays to Fridays inclusive); and at Hook and Chessington Library, Hook Road, Chessington (during normal office hours).   Further information may be obtained by telephoning the Directorate of Environmental Services (Engineering and Transportation), telephone number 0181-547 5910.   Persons desiring to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof, to the Director of Environmental Services (Engineering and Transportation), Guildhall 2, Kingston-upon-Thames KT1 1EU, by 1st June 1998.
