LONDON BOROUGH OF LAMBETH
Proposal to revise traffic operations and parking arrangements on Cosser Street, Lambeth

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Lambeth propose to make the Lambeth (Prescribed Routes) (No. ) Traffic Order 199 , the Lambeth (Waterloo) (Parking Places) (No. ) Order 199 , the Lambeth (Free Parking Places) (Buses) (No. ) Order 199 , under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.   2. The general nature and effect of these Orders would be:   (a) to alter the existing, designated, on-street parking place positions and lengths on Cosser Street, with the loss of some residents, permit holders (residents and business), and metered parking space(s). This will enable other traffic management proposals, identified by items (b) and (c) below, to be implemented.   (b) to revoke the existing one-way operation on a section of Cosser Street, between McAuley Close and Kennington Road, thereby permitting two-way vehicle movement on this section of the street.   (c) to introduce one on-street bus parking place on the northern side of Cosser Street. This will enable short stay coach parking on the proposed two-way vehicular section of the street.   3. The above item (a) alterations will not affect the existing parking charges, or the time limits for on-street parking use, or the classes of vehicles which may use the parking places along Cosser Street, except for the bus parking place as described in paragraph 2(c) above.   4. Copies of documents giving more detailed particulars of the proposed Orders, including a drawing showing the layout of the proposed item (a), (b) and (c) traffic management measures, are available for inspection until the last day of a period of 6 weeks beginning with the date on which the Order is made, or as the case may be, the authority decides not to make the Order at the Council’s offices at Courtenay House, 9-15 New Park Road, London S.W.2, between 9.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays; and the North Lambeth Library, 114-118 Lower Marsh, London S.E.1, on Tuesdays from 2.30 p.m. until 6 p.m., on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 12 noon.   5. All objections and other representations relating to the proposed Orders must be made in writing and all objections must specify the grounds on which they are made and should be sent to the Manager of Transport Planning Group, Environmental Services, Courtenay House, 9-15 New Park Road, London SW2 4DU, by 15th May 1998. T. Hall, Acting Director of Environmental Services 24th April 1998.
