Notice of application for a licence to abstract water

Take notice that BG plc (Property Division), of 100 Thames Valley Park Drive, Reading, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from river terrace deposits between National Grid References TQ 1840 7782 and TQ 1856 7794, at former Gasworks, High Street, Brentford, Middlesex.   The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 16.5 cubic metres per hour, 396 cubic metres per day, 144,540 cubic metres per year, between July 1998 and July 1999. The water will be used for groundwater treatment.   A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Brentford Library, between 27th April 1998 and 29th May 1998.   Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Abstraction Control Manager, Environment Agency, Kings Meadow House, Kings Meadow Road, Reading RG1 8DQ, before the end of the said period, quoting the name of the applicant.
