HIGHWAYS ACT 1980
The A136 Trunk Road (Station Road, Parkeston) (Detrunking) Order 1998
The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that he has made an Order under sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980, entitled The A136 Trunk Road (Station Road, Parkeston) (Detrunking) Order 1998 which provides that a length of the A136 Trunk Road between Parkeston Quay and Upper Dovercourt shall cease to be a trunk road, and shall be classified as a classified road, as from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies Essex County Council (who will become the highway authority responsible for that length) when the Order comes into force. Copies of the Order and the plan referred to in it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours from 27th March 1998 until 8th May 1998, or within 6 weeks from the date of first publication of this notice if that period expires later, at the Highways Agency, Room 5/46 a, St. Christopher House, Southwark Street, London SE1 0TE; and at the Highway Agency’s office at Federated House, London Road, Dorking RH4 1SZ; and at Essex County Council, County Hall, Chelmsford, Essex CM1 1LX; and at Tendring District Council, Town Hall, Station Road, Clacton-on-Sea, Essex CO15 1SE; and at Harwich Town Council, Guildhall, Church Street, Harwich, Essex CO12 3DS. Copies of the Order can be purchased through booksellers or direct from The Stationery Office. The A136 Trunk Road (Station Road, Parkeston) (Detrunking) Order 1998 is numbered S.I.1998/630 and is priced £0.65. Any person aggrieved by the Order mentioned in this notice who desires to question its validity, or the validity of any provision in it, on the ground that (a) it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, or (b) any requirement of that Act or of regulations made under that Act has not been complied with in relation to that Order, may apply to the High Court within 6 weeks from the date of first publication of this notice.
