Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990, Section 69
Conservation Areas—Manorbier, Porthgain, Little Haven
Notice is hereby given under the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990 that the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority, after consultation with local and national groups, has determined that the areas described in the Schedule to this notice are areas of special architectural or historic interest the character of which it is desirable to preserve or enhance and has therefore designated them as Conservation Areas. The principal effects of that Designation are: (a) we must pay special attention in carrying out our duties as the Local Planning Authority to the desirability of preserving or enhancing the character or appearance of these areas, and must prepare and publish proposals for their preservation and enhancement; (b) we must give publicity to planning applications for development which would affect the character or appearance of these areas and take into account representation received as a result of publicity; (c) it becomes an offence, subject to certain exceptions, to cut down, top, lop, uproot or wilfully damage or destroy any tree in these areas except with the consent of the Local Planning Authority; (d) Conservation Area Consent will be required for the demolition of all unlisted buildings (other than excepted buildings) in these areas. Porthgain: The Conservation Area includes all the properties within the village and the surrounding headlands for their contribution towards the setting of the village. Structures include Ty Mawr, The Brickworks and associated quarries, the Harbour and the Beacons. Manorbier: The Conservation Area includes the historic core of the village, centred on the Village Hall, from Morfa Terrace in the east to Durance Cottage in the north. Also included are the Castle and Church together with the beach and its surrounding headlands. Park Farm is included for its contribution to the setting of the village. Little Haven: The Conservation Area includes the historic core of the village, together with properties along Wesley Road; St. Brides Road as far south as No. 47 together with the beach and surrounding headland.
