Other Notices
The Forestry Commissioners hereby give notice that they have made Regulations under the Forestry Act 1967 entitled The Forestry (Exceptions from Restrictions of Felling) (Amendment) Regulations 1998. These Regulations, which come into force on 1st April 1998, amend the Forestry (Exceptions from Restrictions of Felling) Regulations 1979. The Regulations amend the Forestry (Exceptions from Restrictions of Felling) Regulations 1979 by removing the exception in favour of felling in accordance with a plan of operations approved under specified schemes under which the Forestry Commissioners make grants pursuant to section 1 of the Forestry Act 1979. The Woodland Grant Scheme is the only current scheme of those specified. The amendment does not apply to felling pursuant to agreements made under the Woodland Grant Scheme before the Regulations come into force. The Regulations will be published as Statutory Instrument No. 603. Copies may be purchased at 65p net direct from The Stationery Office, at the addresses shown on the last page of this Gazette, or from any bookseller.
