Notice of application to vary a licence to abstract water

Take notice that Ready Mixed Concrete (Transite) Limited of The Willows, Barnet Road, London Colney, Hertfordshire AL2 1BD, is applying to the Environment Agency to vary licence serial number 28/39/24/216, which authorises the abstraction of water from a lagoon at Mohawk Way, Woodley, Reading RG5 4UE, at National Grid Reference SU 7824 7420. The variation being applied for is to increase the volume of water abstracted from 10,456 cubic metres to 25,000 cubic metres per annum, 50 cubic metres to 120 cubic metres per day and 5 cubic metres to 12 cubic metres per hour. The water will be used for concrete production, the washing of vehicles and to fill a water bowser.   A copy of the application and any map, plans and other doucments submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Ready Mixed Concrete (Transite) Limited, Mohawk Way, Woodley, Reading, Berkshire RG5 4UE, between 26th February 1998 and 16th April 1998.   Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Water Resources Officer, South East Area, Environment Agency, Thames Region, Kings Meadow House, Kings Meadow Road, Reading RG1 8DQ, before the end of the said period quoting the name of the applicant.
