Stopping-up of a Highway
Notice is hereby given that Hartlepool Borough Council, the Highway Authority, intends to apply to the Magistrate’s Court sitting at the Law Courts, Victoria Road, Hartlepool, on 4th March 1998, at 2.15 p.m., for an Order pursuant to section 116 of the Highways Act 1980, that those lengths of highway referred to in the schedule hereto be stopped up on the grounds that they are unnecessary. A copy of a plan (drawing No. M49.091) showing those parts of the highway to be stopped up may be inspected, free of charge, during normal office hours at the Legal Division of the Chief Executive’s Department, Civic Centre, Victoria Road, Hartlepool. Schedule
Charles Street: that section of Charles Street from its junction with Lynn Street (North), which incorporates the carriageway and both footways giving an overall width of approximately 13 metres, running in a generally westerly direction for a distance of approximately 110 metres to its junction with Whitby Street. Reed Street (West) (part): that section of Reed Street (West) from its junction with Lynn Street (North), which incorporates the carriageway and both footways giving an overall width of approximately 13 metres, running in a generally westerly direction for a distance of approximately 29 metres to its termination point. Back Charles Street/Reed Street (West): that section of Back Charles Street/Reed Street (West), which is approximately 4.8 metres in width, and commences at a point approximately 20 metres east of the junction of Charles Street and Whitby Street, on the southern side of Charles Street, then running in a generally southerly direction for a distance of approximately 20 metres, then in a generally easterly direction for a distance of approximately 69 metres and then in a generally southerly direction for a distance of approximately 18 metres to the northern footway of Reed Street at a point approximately 28 metres from its junction with Lynn Street (North). 19th January 1998.
