Notice of application to vary licences to abstract water

Take notice that T. Hammond & Sons of New Farm, Redhill, Nottingham, is applying to the Environment Agency to vary licences to abstract water, details of which are as follows:

  Licence 3/28/64/193 authorising the abstraction of 23,000m³/year from an unnamed watercourse at NGR SK 5810 4759 at Leapool to be increased to 30,000m³/year during the period April to October both for direct spray irrigation use and transfer to a storage lagoon for subsequent spray irrigation use, with an additional 50,000m³/year to be taken during the period November to March for transfer to a storage lagoon for subsequent spray irrigation use. Area of land to be increased.
  Licences 3/28/64/230 and 244 authorising abstraction from the Triassic Sandstones at NGR SK 5725 4814 and SK 5784 4670 for direct spray irrigation expire on 30th November 1999 and 31st March 2002 respectively,. Application is made to extend both licences until 31st October 2003, to include additional land and on 3/28/64/244 to allow transfer to a storage lagoon for subsequent spray irrigation use.
  Licence 3/28/69/146 authorising abstraction from a seepage lagoon at NGR SK 833 634 to be increased from 22.7 to 46m³/hour, 182 to 700m³/day and 9092 to 35,000m³/year (the increased quantities to be supported by transfer of water from the River Fleet under licence 3/28/69/155—see below) and to increase the area of land. Licence 3/28/69/155 authorising the abstraction of 38,017m³/year from the river fleet at NGR SK 8240 6353 for direct spray irrigation to include transfer to a seepage lagoon at SK 833 634 (see 3/28/69/146 above) and to increase the area of land.

  A copy of the applications and of any maps, plans or other documents submitted may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at the above address or the Packhouse, Besthorpe, Newark, Nottinghamshire, between 26th January and 23rd February 1998.
